Leslie Stimson is the Washington Bureau Chief for Inside Towers. Leslie Stimson has 38 years of reporting experience, with more than 20 of those years spent at radio trade publications. Prior to coming to Inside Towers in 2016, she was editor-in-chief of Streamline’s Radio and Television Business Report, covering regulatory and business trends. Previously, she was News Editor/Washington Bureau Chief at Radio World’s website and newspaper. She initiated beat coverage, monitored trends and reported daily on technology and business issues that affect radio before the FCC and Congress as well as new radio technologies and consumer electronics.
In an earlier stint, Leslie was Senior Editor/Washington Bureau Chief for Radio Business Report, where she expanded its FCC and Capitol Hill coverage, including on-site reporting on the 1996 Telecommunications Act. Prior, she was Managing Editor, Writer for the National Association of Broadcasters weekly member newsletter “RadioWeek.”
She has moderated panels on digital radio for what is now called the Consumer Technology Association, and been a speaker for the Federal Communications Bar Association.
Leslie began her news career in radio, including anchoring and reporting stints with WAMU(FM), Washington, Voice of America and the Maryland News Network. She holds a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Maryland.
