Leslie Stimson

As Washington Bureau Chief for Inside Towers, Leslie Stimson monitors trends, initiated beat coverage and identified new sources at federal agencies and trade associations for Inside Towers. She reports from the Hill, FCC and industry events. She writes, assigns and edits daily stories and acts as associate editor. She hosts Inside Towers Week in Review, a tower industry podcast available on Spotify and iTunes.

Leslie came to Inside Towers in 2016, covering tower regulatory, technology and business news. Prior, she was editor-in-chief of Streamline’s daily Radio and Television Business Report, covering regulatory and business trends. Previously, she was News Editor/Washington Bureau Chief at Radio World, a broadcast publication serving broadcast engineers. She covered emerging topics like digital radio and connected cars, as well as regulatory news for RW’s daily email and bi-weekly newspaper.

In an earlier stint at RBR, Leslie conducted on-site reporting on the 1996 Telecommunications Act. Prior, she was Managing Editor, Writer for the National Association of Broadcasters weekly member newsletter “RadioWeek.”

She has moderated panels on digital radio for what is now called the Consumer Technology Association, and been a speaker for the Federal Communications Bar Association. She moderated a panel for NATE on the broadcast repack.

Leslie began her news career in radio, including anchoring and reporting stints with WAMU(FM), Washington, Voice of America and the Maryland News Network. She holds a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Maryland.
