A tower technician, an employee of MasTec Network Solutions, fell to his death on Tuesday from a 500 foot tower in Trinity County, TX. The site, located near Groveton, is reportedly owned by Crown Castle, according to KBTX-TV. Deputies from the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call after MasTec Network Solutions reported one of its employees missing. The employee had been assigned to work on the tower but did not return home the previous evening. Deputies found the worker’s body on a platform about eight feet up on the tower.
Preliminary findings suggest that the man was climbing the tower and may have suffered a fall onto the platform. Firefighters from the Apple Springs and Groveton Volunteer Fire Departments assisted in the recovery of the body. The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident, KBTX-TV reported.
