A man from Warren, MI, could face felony theft charges for stealing batteries from two tower sites. The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, was caught on surveillance video. He allegedly entered a locked, gated area and took a dozen batteries sometime between 1:30 pm and 2 pm on August 8, C&G Newspapers reported. A similar theft was reported at a second tower where another 12 batteries were missing. “There’s a gated area that surrounds the tower and a battery cabinet, so there’s numerous contractors, and contractors have the codes,” Warren Police Detective James Wolfe said. “Video of the incident shows the suspect vehicle backing up to the gate, (the suspect) getting out and putting in the code. He backs up his vehicle and then leaves, where you can see the vehicle is weighed down.” (C&G Newspapers)
