NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association and member companies Ericsson, MILLERCO, and SBA Communications facilitated an opportunity on Monday for Rep. Neal Dunn (R-FL) to conduct a communications tower site visit in the 2nd Congressional District of Florida.
During the visit, Dunn toured an SBA tower site and compound in Panama City, FL with event participants. He heard from representatives of NATE, Ericsson, MILLERCO, and SBA about the vital wireless infrastructure solutions and services they deploy to support wireless networks in Florida, throughout the U.S. and in markets around the world. Dunn was also able to speak with event participants about the industry’s workforce development initiatives, training and safety protocols, as well as legislative and regulatory priorities.
The event also provided a forum for the Republican Congressman, who’s also a surgeon, to discuss his legislative priorities given that he serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee. He’s also on the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology which has extensive jurisdiction over many of the issues impacting the industry.
Jimmy Miller (NATE/MILLERCO), Bill Holick (Ericsson), Jody Brooks (Ericsson), Chanceton Ippolito (Ericsson), and David Sams (SBA Communications) served as the primary on-site hosts at the event.
“It was an honor to host Congressman Dunn today at the Panama City tower site,” stated Bill Holick, Director, Site Acquisition Practice at Ericsson. “These wireless site visits are outstanding ‘show and tell’ opportunities that serve to educate influential lawmakers about the role that the industry’s technicians, contractors, OEMs, and vertical real-estate companies perform daily to enable connectivity. Thank you to NATE for partnering with us on this important outreach and to Congressman Dunn for his ongoing support for our industry’s priorities,” added Holick.
