It’s one thing to “talk the talk” but a special session to be held at NATE UNITE 2024 in Memphis will walk the walk…or, rather, climb the climb. The show will feature Tower Structure Demonstrations on February 20 and 21, that will be conducted by Skylotec, Buckingham, Petzl, Sabre Industries, and GME SupplyCo in the exhibit hall of the Renasant Convention Center.
On February 20, SKYLOTEC will use the ACX power ascender to perform various rescue scenarios. For descents, SKYLOTEC trainers will showcase the brand NEW DEUS ONE automatic descender as well as the SIRIUS descender for more complex operations. SKYLOTEC trainers will also demonstrate the use of the TRITON harness as well as various other products including LORY PRO positioning lanyards, SKYSAFE PRO fall protection lanyards, and other SKYLOTEC rescue equipment.
Later, Buckingham Manufacturing and Safety One Training will demonstrate several rigging, hoisting and lowering applications through the use of unique products and work practices.
On February 21, Petzl will host an informative talk and hands-on demonstration on techniques for providing additional protection during tower climbing and rescue training.
Capacity has become more important than ever as carriers densify their networks. As densification continues, towers bear the weight quite literally. Sabre will share their new four sector platform and Split v-boom supporting the carriers’ goals to densify.
Finally on February 21, GME will salute the men and women that have made wireless possible. GME’s presentation will highlight how the industry has come a long way from free climbing towers to sophisticated gear, equipment, and training that keep tower climbers safe and productive on the job.
