New Audio Sound System Designed to Keep the Flock Off Your Towers

St. Petersburg, FL-based Guardian Technologies Group (GTG) introduced its Sound Blanket™ system along with a purpose-built cell tower deployment package specifically designed for the cell tower industry. Other devices according to GTG, called legacy systems, are designed to scare the birds initially but, when they quickly learn there is no actual harm, they come back to feed, roost or nest.

The Sound Blanket™ technology is designed differently as it disrupts the bird’s ability to communicate. Birds communicate via sounds to find food, locate roosts, avoid predators and to socialize. By disrupting the bird’s ability to communicate they feel unsafe in the area and will leave, GTG reported.

“The Sound Blanket™ was born from years of experience listening to customers who were frustrated with what was commercially available for bird deterrence. At GTG we set out to solve this issue,” said Frank Woodward, Founder of GTG. “Birds cost business owners and commercial operations tens of millions of dollars in lost revenue, nuisance complaints, time and maintenance costs. We now have a modular, easily deployable and proven way to greatly reduce and control the damage caused by birds.”

The system is self-contained, weather proof, requires little ongoing maintenance and can be operated 24/7 or programmed to target specific times. Directional sound and adjustable volume features allow for deployments in all types of settings including urban and residential settings.
