PerfectVision announced the launch of its RapidVision Mechanical Connector, a quick termination fiber connector developed and enhanced via industry knowledge and customer feedback. Prioritizing the end-user or technician, PerfectVision says its strengthening its focus on the FTTX and FTTH ecosystem. It remains “determined to help connect the world and close the digital divide.”

“PerfectVision is proud to offer a product that can be deployed quickly and sets a standard for technicians to learn installation in less than an hour,” says Patrick Noonan, a key developer of the RapidVision Connector and Sales Manager of Fiber Products at PerfectVision. “Developing those aspects into the product was our inspiration. We are delivering something that is not out there today.”

This Single Mode mechanical connector uses the latest generation of Rapid Ready-Termination technology resulting in easy assembly, with no need for epoxy, glue, or polishing of the connector during the installation process. Options are currently available in blister packs of 10 in SC/APC and SC/UPC with fiber diameters of 900um and 250um.

Using an internal clamp with a locking tab and snap-on boot, this connector has a pull force or fiber retention of >10N for tensile strength after installation. Featuring low insertion loss of <0.5dB and a low back reflection valued at >-60dB, this connector was developed for excellent optical performance and is ideal for FTTH applications, according to Noonan.

“The connector has a unique low-profile design. It will fit better than anything else out there in that [FTTH] product line, it doesn’t necessarily have to be crossed over and used with all PerfectVision items, it can also intertwine anywhere into anybody else’s product footprint,” explained Noonan.

PerfectVision has created multiple training aids to assist and align the industry with the RapidVision Mechanical Connector. An installation sheet and video is available for customer training. PerfectVision has hosted in-person training demos at WISPAPALOOZA 2023 in Las Vegas, NV, NATE Unite 2024 in Memphis, TN and similar sessions across the country. It continues to emphasize its focus on connecting the world to information, education, and entertainment through voice, video, and data technologies.
