CCA announced on Friday that preparations for its 2024 Mobile Carriers Show (MCS 2024) are underway, as it adds keynote speakers, new networking opportunities, and add-on activities to the event. The show will be held in Palm Springs, CA, at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa from April 16-18.
CCA’s events are designed to bring together senior decision-makers from a myriad of carrier organizations and provide networking opportunities, educational programs, and an exhibit hall to reach the lucrative competitive carrier market. The association estimates that more than $15 billion annually is spent on products and services.
New to the MCS 2024 keynote lineup is FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez, starting at 9:30 am on Wednesday, April 17, on the Springs Ballroom main stage. Immediately following will be keynotes from Ankur Kapoor, SVP of Network Strategy & Evolution for T-Mobile US, and Leslie Shannon, Head of Trend and Innovation Scouting for Nokia.
The next day, Thursday, April 18, CCA will unveil the winners of its annual Excellence in Marketing Awards, recognizing the industry’s best advertising, marketing, and communications initiatives over the last year. The keynote program will continue with Bob Chiodo, Senior Vice President of Syniverse, who will give a keynote titled “Unlocking the Opportunities International Roaming Can Bring to Rural Carriers.”
Mischa Dohler, VP Emerging Technologies at Ericsson, will give remarks with the theme, “A Glimpse of a Digital Future: Where Future Meets Reality.”
All main stage keynotes and awards will be live streamed on the CCA YouTube channel for those unable to attend in-person.
The MCS 2024 educational program will host executives and thought leaders who will explore competitive carrier policy initiatives, trends in customer engagement, recruiting talent, network optimization, and more.
CCA points out that, unlike the main stage keynotes, this and other exclusive breakouts and roundtables are only open to those who purchase a ticket and attend on-site. The deluxe package includes entry to the MCS 2024 exhibit hall, where businesses showcase the latest mobile solutions. Tickets also afford attendees free, all-you-can-eat-and-drink access to a premium buffet spread for breakfast and lunch, as well as snacks, desserts, coffee, and reception beverages and hors d’oeuvres throughout the duration of the three-day event.
Rounding out the educational program will be a special addition of the breakout session, “2024: A Space Odyssey.” Panelists will discuss the current state of play and how the industry can boldly go where no one has gone before. Speakers will address consumer demand for coverage wherever they are is now mixing with improvements in satellite-based communications, creating new opportunities for terrestrial networks to fill gaps in coverage through satellite. Increasingly, carriers are exploring new partnerships and creating new business models to meet customer expectations.
