Pacific Technical Solutions: Bridging Innovation in Wireless Network Equipment

From its inception, Pacific Technical Solutions has worked closely with mobile carriers to address their equipment needs. Now a fully established manufacturer, the company has expanded its customer base to include 3PO’s and contractors, enhancing its offerings in the wireless network industry.

Foundation and Growth

Founded in 2001 in Seattle by Mark Zamalloa, Pacific Technical Solutions capitalized on Zamalloa’s expertise as a representative for test equipment manufacturers. Notably, he played a pivotal role in launching Anritsu’s Site Master globally. His foundational skills were honed during a six-year tenure in the Navy, where he specialized in electronics, testing, troubleshooting, and the deployment of a groundbreaking missile system at sea.

In 2012, the company relocated to Dallas and transformed into a strategic supplier, primarily serving a tier-one mobile carrier. The acquisition of another company in 2013 marked its transition to a full-fledged manufacturer, currently deriving 98 percent of its revenue from products it designs and assembles in Dallas.

Innovative Product Lines

Pacific Technical Solutions now produces equipment across four key areas: power distribution, battery cabinets, equipment rack solutions, and brackets.

  • Power Distribution: Zamalloa highlights that their products are built to be flexible and scalable, meeting the dynamic needs of today’s small cell and mid-cell sites.
  • Battery Cabinets: Customizable to align with future network requirements.
  • Equipment Racks: The company offers a range of 19-inch and 23-inch racks, all Zone 4 seismic tested and ready for deployment.
  • Brackets: Their universal small cell and micro cell radio pole mount brackets accommodate multiple OEM radios and can be configured for horizontal or vertical installations, catering to 5G, DAS, CRAN, LAA, and CBRS deployments.

“Customer-Centric Approach”

A core principle at Pacific Technical Solutions is the close collaboration with customers to foster innovative solutions, according to Zamalloa. “By integrating the needs of both contractors and carriers, we ensure that products not only meet but exceed expectations,” he says.  “Our goal is not just to build a product but to solve a real challenge for our customers.”

Emphasizing product usability and safety, Zamalloa considers the perspectives of field technicians who install these systems, often under challenging conditions. The company aims to simplify the installation process to ensure both safety and efficiency.

Looking Ahead

Despite the challenges in the wireless industry, Pacific Technical Solutions remains optimistic about its future, particularly with the anticipated network densification. Zamalloa predicts a significant increase in the need for physical network locations to achieve higher throughput and coverage.
