PerfectVision says it strives to annually introduce new innovations at the NATE UNITE event. This year is no different. PerfectVision will unveil its latest offering at NATE UNITE 2025, February 17-20 in Raleigh, NC.
Addressing “a clear market need,” PerfectVision developed the Handy Attachment Tool (HAT) Series, a new line of lifting devices designed to meet the demands of today’s professionals.
The HAT is an engineered Class A lifting device that meets ANSI/TIA-322-A standards. The device utilizes a plate and sleeve tube and does not have an integrated-pulley. Rather, it provides an attachment location for contractor-supplied rigging devices. The simple and lightweight lifting device is available in four pipe diameters ranging from 2-3/8” up to 4-1/2”. Engineering load charts and user manual are also made available for proper use of the product by a qualified person.
The HAT is engineered with a lightweight hoisting solution for technicians and climbers. “The HAT gives technicians another tool in their toolkit to tackle jobs efficiently,” said Jonathan Biskie, VP of Infrastructure Business Operations at PerfectVision. “It’s designed for tasks that require lifting and rigging but don’t necessarily call for a crane or a more robust solution like our ACC6 [PV-LPP-GS-ACC6] Lifting Device.”
The HAT can be used as part of a Class III Lightweight Hoisting Operation with rigging attached away from the primary structure per ANSI/ASSP A10.48-2023 section 4.4.4.1.B. The Lightweight hoisting Operation that is outlined in that section of the standard shall not exceed 200 lbs. A documented Class III construction plan is required to be developed by a qualified person with direct involvement of the onsite competent persons. The product offers redundant rigging attached to the structure per one of the two methods outlined in ANSI/ASSP A10.48-2023 figures A-4(A) or A-4(B). The HAT device is never to be used to lift personnel regardless of the capabilities as stated in the load chart, nor should it be used as part of a fall protection system.
PerfectVision has consistently demonstrated its ongoing commitment to innovation in the industry with each of its product launches at NATE, according to Scott Stekr, Sr. VP of US Engineering at PerfectVision. “For PerfectVision as a whole, especially the engineering team, the NATE show really draws a line in the sand of a development deadline that we impose upon ourselves,” said Stekr. “We have consistently delivered innovation at each NATE show, and we pride ourselves on ensuring that continues into the future.”
Paired with the HAT, PerfectVision has designed the SLASSO. The SLASSO is an adjustable rope sling with an integrated hook that can serve as the redundant attachment from the backside of the rigging device (HAT or PV-LPP-GS-ACC6) back to the structure. This sling is designed to help the competent person meet the requirements for redundant rigging under the standard or code.
The HAT and SLASSO will be on display at PerfectVision’s booth 403 at NATE UNITE and showcased in three A10.48 educational sessions. In these three sessions, located at the exhibit on the NATE floor, PerfectVision will step through all of the requirements to utilize an exemption when performing a lightweight hoisting operation under the ANSI/ASSP A10.48-2023 (Purchase the ANSI/ASSP A10.48-2023 HERE).
“PerfectVision is taking an opportunity to make people aware that the standard exists and where to purchase it,” Doug Salvatori, SR VP of Infrastructure at PerfectVision stated. “We want to provide the industry with access to information they can use to further educate themselves.”
The scheduled timeslots for the sessions are Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 2:30 PM ET and 4:00 PM ET and Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 3:30 PM ET. You can register for free and add your preferred session time to your calendar using this link.
