Being set up as a manufacturer and a distributor, PerfectVision is positioned to fulfill the bills of material seen on many 5G deployments. The company has six warehouses strategically placed throughout the U.S., which allows it to provide a two-day turnaround from the point of purchase, to 95 percent of the country.
Patrick Noonan is the Fiber Optic Product Manager at PerfectVision. “Our fiber-optic product offerings reach almost every segment of the business, from the large backbone of the communications network across the country, to cell sites, homes, and businesses,” Noonan said.
PerfectVision added fiber-optic products to its catalog in 2013 when they expanded into the wireless infrastructure business, supporting all the aspects of telecom network infrastructure from design to deployment. Its product line includes passive components that pass the signal along using either cable or connectors.
PerfectVision sells their products to integrators and contractors who perform installations for large carriers. There are also many companies that distribute PerfectVision’s products, which are produced in warehouses in Little Rock, AR; Denver, CO; and overseas.
“We find that installers and technicians are looking for something easy to use,” said Noonan. “Serving as both a manufacturer and a distributor for fiber optics and other product lines we carry, we make it easier by stocking multiple products in so many locations to get your job done. When we develop a solution, we keep it simple: easy to use, deploy, and obtain.”
Currently, one of the newer products that has been generating some buzz is the ONA OneAdvisor-800 from VIAVI. The ONA equips mobile service providers, tower companies, and contractors to meet the growing demands of carrier reporting requirements for 5G buildouts. The throughput needed to power 5G has drastically elevated the scrutiny and precision demanded from transmission lines on site.
The ONA provides a fantastic solution, as it is a single product that allows for Fiber Inspection, OTDR, and Cable & Antenna Sweeps. The combination of VIAVI’s expanding MOP presence and PerfectVision’s inventory and pricing position has made this one of the most prevalent items of discussion involving fiber today. As the number of carriers and markets making this a requirement for site closeout continues to grow, the demand on these units will only increase.
Along with serving the wireless industry, PerfectVision partners with DIRECTV and its installation and services group. “It’s not just a selling product,” Noonan said. “We’re also networking to help the solution be deployed with actual labor. This allows us to generate jobs and offer employment at PerfectVision, as well as further strengthening our relationship with our customers.”
In the future, PerfectVision plans to manufacture more products. It has plans to complete a new, larger facility at a centrally located hub by the end of this year, which will have room to store and manufacture. “Not only do we place ourselves strategically across the country, but we’re adding a massive opportunity to store more products and increase production,” Noonan said. “That’s something that we see the need to do in order to better service our customers.”
