Since its unveiling in 2018, the PerfectVision LIFE and Guardian Series mounts have pushed the envelope of innovation, focused on design and tower climber safety. PerfectVision’s Engineering Design team has pushed the limit of design and functionality.
“BYOB!” Not your normal opener for discussing rigging equipment. But PerfectVision is about innovation, and its “revolutionary new antenna lifting device is creating buzz,” according to Chris Pleibel, Vice President, Infrastructure. PerfectVision’s ACC6 Antenna Lifting Device utilizes the acronym to start the conversation. The ACC6 “Bring Your Own Block” is the newest accessory for PerfectVision’s customers’ use in-building, or for upgrading of equipment on towers.
“The ACC6 Antenna Lifting Device helps increase the speed of installation and reduces costs associated with rigging off the structure. Innovative design features incorporate different sized pipe options into one product and with the simple pull of a pin, you’ll be able to rip through antenna swaps with ease,” explains Pleibel.
Tower crews can effectively maximize future loading requirements and increase ease of installation, according to PerfectVision. PerfectVision’s ACC6 Antenna Lifting Device is pre-engineered to support up to 500 pounds rigging load per antenna pipe when used in conjunction with the included load rigging charts. The lifting device is of tubular construction and does not have an integrated rooster head. Rather, it provides an attachment location for contractor-supplied rigging devices, allowing each crew greater flexibility in using familiar and trusted equipment already on the site.
With an overall length of 58⅜” the ACC6 Antenna Lifting Device has an all steel construction galvanized finish and a combined total weight 41.5 pounds. The ACC6 comes standard with three different pipe configurations:
- Lifting Device fits inside 2SCH40 (2.375″ Ø)
- Lifting Device Sleeve 1 fits inside 2.5SCH40 (2.875″ Ø) and,
- Lifting Device Sleeve 2 fits inside 3SCH40 (3.5″ Ø)
NOTE: There is an optional add on kit that when purchased separately that will fit inside NPS 4SCH40pipe with a 4” Ø
“Keeping the safety of the climber in mind, we designed PerfectVision’s ACC6 Antenna Lifting Device to prevent unnecessary actions and wasted time rigging again while at height,” says Pleibel. This was accomplished by designing the shoulder height to 26 ½”. This creates ample headroom to rig and hold equipment in the exact location the Tower Technician needs and will prevent a second pick once the equipment is at height. PerfectVision says hoisting is simplified by three separate offset holes that will accept a ⅝” shackle big end and are spaced at the following intervals to allow for several attachment options including: 3⅞” and 5⅞” on one side, and two tool lanyard attachment points and 3⅞” on the opposite side.
From Design and Fabrication to Installation Support, PerfectVision is committed to its products, says Pleibel. PerfectVision’s new Steel product line is proudly manufactured in the U.S and offers the following benefits:
- Does not clog the climbing path
- Faster to install than mounts with brace and kicker kits
- Engineered to handle current and future loading
- Includes durable and waterproof installation guidelines
- Cutting edge design, and
- Equipped with 10,000 LBS permanent tie-off points on each sector
PerfectVision uses the following material grades and standards in the manufacturing of its steel parts:
- Plate / Angle: ASTM A36
- Pipe: ASTM A53-B
- HSS: ASTM A500-B
- Bolts: ASTM A325 / SAE Gr. 5, and
- Galvanization: ASTM A123
