Located in DeWitt, NY, a suburb of Syracuse, PPC Broadband, a core brand within Belden’s Broadband Solutions business, is expanding, announced Governor Kathy Hochul during a visit to the facility. The company expects to create approximately 100 new jobs this year, bringing the total workforce to 500 employees. PPC Broadband makes connectivity products for broadband providers and cable television companies, with a growing focus on fiber products, notes Syracuse.com

“Let’s look to the future and what the world will look like for our children and our grandchildren as we take the next steps forward,” said Gov. Hochul. “What opportunities are they going to have and what jobs are they going to have to stay right here in Central New York? Over 80 years, they’ve been here designing components that power telecommunication systems today, and they’ve been right here in Syracuse the whole time.”

PPC Broadband operates two facilities in the region, one focusing on production and the other incorporating lab space. The company said it would be investing $7.3 million in the central New York enterprise. Hochul praised the company for keeping and creating jobs in the United States, and said that the investment will benefit the local community “in ways you could not even imagine.”
