Between wildfires and unrelenting hurricanes, natural disasters have left a path of destruction this year. SAC Wireless, a Nokia company is stepping up to support those left in its wake.
“Once we get the call from the carrier that it’s safe to go into the area to start putting these cell sites back on air, the guys literally leave that day,” says Jonathan McKinley, SAC Wireless’ Chief Field Services Officer. “80 percent of all 911 calls are done by someone using their cell phone. It’s really important for first responders to have communication and these cell sites working and it’s also the ability to actually call out and get help when needed.”
