UPDATE – Another shipment of Starlink satellite internet service stations has been delivered to Ukraine, according to the country’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedoro, who posted on Twitter.

“Technology is our future. Today it helps Ukrainians! It helps the new good to defeat the old evil. Ukraine is the future! Thank you,” Fedoro tweeted to SpaceX head Elon Musk.

What followed in the string of tweets between Musk and Federo, which could be described as a consultation on how to keep the satellite communications in operation in the war-torn country.

“With Russian attacks on our infra[structure], we need generators to keep Starlinks & life-saving services online – ideas?” Fedoro asked.

“Solar panels + battery pack better than generator, as no heat signature or smoke & doesn’t run out of fuel,” Musk answered.

@elonmusk Great suggestions! We’re unlucky w/weather: clouds + smoke from burning cities and with infra[strucure] damage can’t grid charge batteries. Last time for fossil fuels now? Then you help rebuild Ukraine with full solar+storage?” Fedora wrote.

“Solar area will need to be higher with obscuration, but works better than one might think,” Musk answered.
