Jennifer Fritzsche, Senior Analyst at Wells Fargo, and her team attended an investor conference yesterday where CFO of T-Mobile, Braxton Carter, spoke. Fritzsche highlighted some of the important parts of Carter’s speech. “Noted network currently covers 280 million LTE POPs (long-term evolution points of presence), with 190MM POPs covered with low-band spectrum; TMUS is ahead of schedule to reach 300 million POPs by year-end, and expects to add 1 million incremental square miles of coverage in 2015,” Fritzsche wrote. ” Expect all legacy CDMA (code division multiple access) MetroPCS markets to be shut down by the end of June 2015, with 300K subs remaining in some of its largest markets (New York City, Miami, Dallas); The shut-down would allow the MetroPCS decommissioning synergies to accelerate in the second half of 2015, with full run-rate hit likely in 2016.”
