NATE congratulates Inside Towers on their 10th Anniversary! Over the last 10 years, the Association’s staff and member companies have relied on Inside Towers each morning to provide timely and relevant content on marketplace dynamics, legislative and regulatory policy updates, safety information, workforce development initiatives, and new product announcements. As Inside Towers transitions into a new decade of industry coverage, I can speak for our membership in saying that we look forward to continuing to rely on this important content on a daily basis.
NATE member companies have been on the front lines of every generation of wireless/communications network deployment. NATE member contractor companies and their skilled technician workforce will be relied on heavily to complete the 5G build cycle and will once again be called upon for the 6G deployment cycle phase over the next 10 years.
Through the innovative work of NATE’s Safety Equipment Manufacturer’s Committee (SEMC), the Association believes there will continue to be advances in the PPE and tower-site equipment and technology that ultimately will make the work of technicians safer and more efficient. Additionally, with more training accessible than ever before, the Association foresees an increasing number of contractor companies employing “hybrid” technicians diversifying their skill sets by being trained in macro-tower, small cell, and fiber (horizontal drilling and boring) environments.
Due to the great workforce development promotion and awareness initiatives of NATE, WIA and many of our other peer industry Associations, we also believe that there will be enhanced visibility and awareness at the high school and post-secondary levels regarding the many career pathways available in the communications infrastructure industry.
As an organization that is heavily invested in the commercial drone sector, NATE also sees the continued ramp-up of use cases associated with the utilization of UAS and Artificial Intelligence technologies being used at communication tower, wireless, and broadband sites.
