Two Dead in Industrial Accident in Delaware

Two men installing an antenna on a water tower in Bethany Beach, DE were killed Monday when a strong wind tipped over the lift that was holding them, according to the Associated Press. State police reported that the men were in the lift about 120 feet in the air installing an antenna. As the lift fell, the police said, it became tangled in surrounding electrical wires.

A 22-year-old man and a 23-year-old man, both from Puerto Rico, were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities withheld their names pending notification of family members. Delaware State Police said the men were working for the Velex company on the Sussex Shores Water Company tower located on Waterworks Court. The cause of death is under investigation.
