Verizon (NYSE: VZ) is poised to hire 1,800 additional technicians to expand its East Coast operations, specifically for FiOS Home Internet. The carrier announced the jobs will be available in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Washington D.C., Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware and are expected to be filled by July 2026.
The roles will focus on building, maintaining, and installing FiOS in rural and underserved communities. Funding for the expansion is provided in part by the American Rescue Plan.
“We’re looking for individuals who are hard working, team players, and are excited about technology and delivering the best experience possible for our customers,” said Yoli Stancil, SVP Wireline Network Field Operations. Verizon is working with the Communications Workers of America and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers to fill open positions.
