Eight years ago Westbrook Engineering Inc. was strictly an engineering company, but it started adding services for telecommunication towers including site development, structural analysis for towers and mounts, design improvements and upgrades. Eventually, the company was equally focused on engineering and towers. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that last year, James Westbrook started a new company – Westbrook Towers Inc. Westbrook is vice president of the engineering company and president of the tower entity.

Services are expanding and now include design of installation for long-term evolution upgrades (LTE) and structural upgrades to telecommunication towers. The company views difficult assignments as opportunities to demonstrate its technical expertise. Westbrook is also gearing up to start Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) mandated maintenance for tower owners. That involves standard repairs that are needed over time, for instance replacing guide wires and tower lighting.

Westbrook estimates they have done more than 1,000 designs over the years specializing in projects for steel, wood frame buildings and reinforced concrete. Clients are primarily from the private sector.

“We’ve had lots of activity recently, the second half of 2015 has really picked up,” Westbrook said. “We strive to complete our assignment within our client’s schedule and get it done correctly the first time. But if field conditions turn out to not be what you thought they were, we react quickly. We want this to be a good experience for our clients.”Headquartered in Johns Creek, GA, Westbrook Towers also has an office in Ocala, FL, and works with companies east of the Rocky Mountains. Plans are to open an office in Texas. More information on Westbrook’s website here.
