“The story highlights the need for diligence and responsibility in the deployment of wireless infrastructure and the pitfalls of taking shortcuts. Only by respecting the legitimate concerns of the communities we serve will we create an environment in which the wireless industry can meet the ever-growing demand for data. Wireless infrastructure – towers and small cells – work together to deliver mobile service to communities everywhere. Macro infrastructure remains the foundation for the mobile networks of today and tomorrow. Collocation on existing infrastructure should always remain an option for localities. We should avoid the creation of tower farms and other surprises that will set back our efforts to establish long-term relationships with localities that will allow for rapid progress as we deploy infrastructure going forward, including 5G networks.  Diverse deployment solutions are necessary to deliver the integrated mobile HetNet ecosystem that supports public safety, healthcare, education, entertainment, and business.”
