WISPA opened-up its annual Spring conference, WISPAMERICA OKC, Monday at the Oklahoma City Convention Center.  This year, the annual event runs March 4 to 7. It celebrates the growth and evolution of the WISP industry, bringing together over 1,200 ISPs to learn the latest technical and business practices, get up-to-speed on new regulations, experience state of the art broadband tech and tools, and network with colleagues from across the country – all in a congenial atmosphere in the heartland of America.

WISPAMERICA features:

  • 50+ comprehensive, expert panels, covering everything an operator needs to know to run a successful ISP, according to the association.
  • 120+ exhibitors, showing off their latest gear, software and services.
  • And TechVision Forum, offering CTOs a special, deep-dive technical track to improve their broadband offerings.

It’s been a busy year since the last WISPAMERICA. On top of the industry’s 24/7/365 efforts in the marketplace, Washington, D.C. and the states have begun to make real progress to address the digital divide, according to the association. Soon, billions of BEAD program dollars will pour into local communities to fund more broadband deployment and adoption. WISPs have shaped this discussion for the better, WISPA says.

“Through the hard work and united voice of the WISP industry, many Federal and State policymakers now recognize the primary goal of that program is to get all online, not to impose a single technological solution to address the challenge,” noted WISPA President/CEO David Zumwalt. “WISPs are playing an integral role in this important national transformation, delivering the right tool for the job for the communities they serve.”

Added Zumwalt, “WISPAMERICA is privileged to host our great WISP community of operators, vendors, service providers, advisors, and innovators, all gathered to help deliver scale, find new opportunities, improve competitive differentiation and bring reliable broadband to Americans, no matter where they live.”
