Industry Relieved at Fully Seated FCC With Gomez Confirmation

Various industry associations congratulated Anna Gomez on her Senate confirmation of her nomination as an FCC commissioner. “NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association and our over 1,140 member companies look forward to working with Gomez and her staff on the myriad of policy issues facing the communications infrastructure, wireless, broadband and telecom ecosystem,” said NATE President/CEO Todd Schlekeway.  

WIA President/CEO Patrick Halley said: “Anna’s vast experience in telecom policy and spectrum management will make her an invaluable new voice on the Commission. We look forward to working closely with her to ensure the U.S. continues to lead the world in network deployment and innovation to enable connectivity everywhere.” 

The leadership of Anna Gomez “as the U.S. Representative to WRC-23, alongside her prior roles at the FCC and NTIA, are a testament to an exceptional public service career, underpinned by a keen understanding of policy and regulatory landscapes,” said CTIA President/CEO Meredith Attwell Baker. “Her proven track record in government oversight of spectrum management will be invaluable to ensuring America’s continued wireless leadership and expanding broadband access for all Americans.”

Competitive Carriers Association President/CEO Tim Donovan commended the Senate for the confirmation, recognizing Gomez’ “exceptional qualifications and dedication to advancing telecommunications policy. With her, “we look forward to continuing the important work to provide ubiquitous wireless connectivity to benefit both consumers and the nation as a whole.”

WISPA VP of Government Affairs Matt Mandel said of Gomez: “Her years of experience and immense talents have commanded universal respect from the telecom and consumer communities, and we are excited to begin working with her on the weighty communications matters of today and tomorrow.”
