Alpha Platforms: Taking Telecom to the Top, Untraditionally

Alpha Platforms says its “changing the game in the telecom world” with what they refer to as “Aerial Lift as a Service,” or ALaaS. It’s more than a rental. It’s a custom solution designed to tackle the challenges of the telecom sector head-on, streamlining operations, according to the company.

It isn’t just a fly-by-night operation either. “We are the go-to partner for top brands nationwide, spanning nearly 20 different industries,” according to Peter Sorensen, Corporate Director of Industry Verticals. “From teaming up with e-commerce giants to rubbing shoulders with space exploration pioneers, Alpha Platforms has proven itself time and again.”

At the core of Alpha Platforms’ service is its comprehensive operated rentals. But this isn’t your run-of-the-mill equipment leasing; it’s a full-on experience including operators, delivery lifts, fuel, insurance, and street permits and traffic coordination, as needed. “With Alpha Platforms, clients focus on their main gig, knowing the logistics are in capable hands,” adds Viktor Gold, Operations and Safety Director.

From Window Washing to Sky-High Solutions

From the busy streets of New York City to the dizzying heights of skyscrapers, Alpha Platforms’ journey is one of “humble beginnings and big dreams.” In 2006, in the midst of the city hustle, it started with a small window cleaning business.

The founders, two immigrants from Ukraine, Yuriy Karpinskyy and Ihor Hlushka, saw the flaws in traditional height access methods and decided there had to be a better solution. They stepped into the aerial lift rental business. “We would rewrite the rules of height access solutions. We set out to redefine safety, speed, and efficiency for these workers,” said Yuriy Karpinskyy, CEO.

Under the leadership of Karpinskyy, Alpha Platforms has introduced several advanced aerial lifts. These include the German-engineered Palfinger, a 230-foot aerial work platform mounted on a Class-8 truck chassis, and the “Queen of the Skies” A-300, a platform as tall as the Statue of Liberty, according to the company. “These lifts set new standards, offering the reach needed for just about any job that requires height access,” said Karpinskyy.

A New Model: ALaaS    Gold says Alpha Platforms’ “groundbreaking ‘Aerial-Lift-as-a-Service’ model redefined the entire rental game.” Clients receive a comprehensive package that prioritizes “safety and efficiency as non-negotiables,” says Gold.

Alpha Platforms says it has slashed setup times to a mere 15 to 20 minutes. That’s far less than traditional cranes require, according to Gold. With truck-mounted lifts and certified drivers, clients can rotate between job sites, supporting multiple teams or projects in a single day.

Their lifts aren’t just fast; they’re durable as well, says Frank Piluso, Chief Relationship Officer. “Our platforms are rated to withstand winds of up to 27 MPH, ensuring minimal downtime, even in rough weather. Plus, our unique leveling features allow lifts to work on tricky terrain,” explains Piluso.

Tackling Difficulties Directly

Like in every industry, success doesn’t come without its challenges. Alpha Platforms received an unexpected call from a job site when its lift got stuck in the air due to extreme RF interference. The team immediately got to work to resolve the issue.

The entire fleet underwent RF tests to determine if the problem was replicable across all of its lifts. “Luckily, only one model showed RF sensitivity, while others, proved to be RF protected,” explains Karpinskyy. After consulting with manufacturers, a solution was pinpointed, according to Karpinskyy. “It came in the form of RF shielding of the lift’s cage controls panel with Faraday fabric. A simple $200 solution put 5 units of the same model, which were affected by RF, back to servicing our telecom clients.”
