In an SEC filing, AT&T (T) says that it and Time Warner (TWX) have agreed to extend the termination date of their merger plan to April 22, 2018, according to Seeking Alpha.
The move was anticipated by industry analysts as a potential Justice Department lawsuit challenging the $85B buyout may be forthcoming. AT&T has said it wants the case to move expeditiously and wrote in its filing, it “intends to vigorously contest the DOJ’s allegations and is confident that the Court will reject the DOJ’s challenge to the merger,” Seeking Alpha reported.
