5G-Small Cell Deployment Training Begins February 2

NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association announced the schedule for comprehensive 5G–Small Cell Deployment Training for industry employees and employers beginning February 2 in Bloomington, MN. The curriculum will address Fall Prevention in the Construction Industry, with an emphasis on small cell deployment safety practices that are necessary to understand in order to keep workers safe while building and maintaining next generation wireless sites. 

The new curriculum to be developed by NATE will include detailed instruction on small cell deployment safety practices. To register, click here. The training is free of charge and will include the following topics:

  1. Introduction to NATE and OSHA
  2. State of the Industry
  3. Potential Small Cell Hazards and Exposures
  4. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  5. Pre-task Planning and Job Hazard Assessment
  6. Temporary Traffic Control
  7. Trenching and Excavation
  8. Small Cell Electrical Hazard Identification
  9. Fiber Optics Safety Basics
  10. Working at Height
  11. Radio Frequency (RF) Hazards
  12. Confined Spaces
  13. Environmental Concerns
  14. Working Alone and in the General Public

The course will also include information regarding employee and employer rights and responsibilities under the OSH Act of 1970, whistleblower complaint procedures and protection provisions.
