CCA’s Mobile Carriers Show (MCS 2021) will take place online later this month and will highlight policy initiatives, innovations in 5G, security, the impact of COVID-19, and more. MCS 2021 airs March 30-31 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. ET. Registration is free.
The keynote program will feature key policymakers including Congressman Mike Doyle (D-PA), Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), and FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr, who will discuss policy initiatives important to competitive carriers.

MCS 2021 also features educational programming with four tracks: policy, technical, business development, and marketing/customer experience. Sessions will focus on the COVID-19 impact, best practices in network security, next generation technologies, Open RAN, VoLTE, 5G strategies, monetizing CBRS, and effective marketing techniques.

The New (Zoom) Room Where It Happens: The Dynamics of a New Administration and the 117th Congress (March 30; 11:15am ET)
A new Administration and Congress means shifting to new policies and priorities from new power players. This panel will present an in-depth look at congressional committees and FCC leadership and composition, focusing on their proposed policy initiatives’ effect on rural wireless issues and CCA advocacy.

Universally Essential: A Deep Dive into USF (March 31; 11:15am ET)
The Universal Service Fund has proven an invaluable resource for CCA members and their customers through its four key programs: high-cost, Lifeline, E-Rate, and rural health care. The next several years will see many changes to Universal Service as the FCC gears up for a 5G Fund auction and as new FCC explores ways to reinvigorate these programs. Reform of the USF contribution methodology also may see renewed interest. This panel will explore these changes and the potential implications on CCA members.

Making Waves: Let’s Talk About Spectrum (March 31; 2:00pm ET)
Congress, the FCC, and other government agencies have worked expeditiously over the last several years to free up and allocate spectrum to meet the increasing demand for 5G wireless services. This panel will assess the successes and weaknesses of recent auctions, including millimeter wave bands, CBRS and C-Band, and the implications on upcoming auctions in the 2.5 GHz and 3.45-3.55 GHz bands. The panel also will discuss where the next opportunities lie to identify spectrum to be used for 5G.
