DigitalBridge (NYSE: DBRG) is reportedly looking to add to its data center holdings by talking with PCCW (SEHK: 0008), owners of nine data centers in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Malaysia, according to Bloomberg. PCCW, a media enterprise controlled by billionaire Richard Li, was shopping their portfolio in April, Bloomberg reported, following strict security laws imposed on data centers in Hong Kong by the Chinese government in 2020.

DigitalBridge currently has $32 billion in assets under management (AUM) from the Colony Capital portfolio, which include controlling interests in Vantage Data Centers, Aptum Technologies, Agile Data Centers, Data Bank (which bought zColo), and Scala Data Centers in Brazil, according to Data Center Dynamics.

Neither PCCW nor DigitalBridge have issued comments on the alleged dealings.
