The Georgia Wireless Association (GWA) announced the postponement of its annual golf outing yesterday in a letter from Association President, Kenton Wallace.

“The Georgia Wireless Association prides itself on our loyal members, events, charity and outreach,” Wallace stated, “which is why it’s difficult to announce that we will be postponing the David Downie Memorial Golf Classic until 2021. With all that’s going on in the world and in the state of Georgia, we felt this was the only decision. We don’t know how the rest of the year will play out yet, but please stay tuned for further news and virtual events.”

Wallace said the GWA supports several charities through their various events every year including the golf tournament and asked members and would-be sponsors to consider to donate to one of their charities which include:

“Lastly,” Wallace said, “I have heard some of our members and members of their families have been fighting their own battles with COVID and we as the GWA community stand with you and wish for your speedy recovery. Please stay safe and look forward to seeing you at the 2021 David Downie Memorial Golf Classic!”
