With Super Bowl LIV just around the corner, guests of ten upper-echelon Miami Beach hotels will be expecting reliability in their mobile devices to live stream the game, connect with other fans, and share their experience with friends and family. Connectivity Wireless has been at the epicenter of preparations for the big game having installed state-of-the-art cellular distributed network solutions at the following properties: The Epic Hotel, The Setai in Miami Beach, The Victor, Hotel at the Villa Casa Casuarina (former Versace Mansion), The Breakwater, The Edison, The Retro, The Deco, The Strand and The Tropical.

To complete the installations in time for the game, Connectivity Wireless effectuated an aggressive 90-day build timeline. The project designs divided the properties among three separate distributed networks:

  • The Epic Hotel utilizes a JMA DAS
  • The Setai hotel utilizes a SOLiD DAS
  • The Ocean Drive project (comprising the remaining eight hotels) utilizes a DRAN solution and centralized headends

Collectively, the projects leverage 25,450 feet of fiber, 54,595 feet of coaxial cable, and 507 antennas to provide game day-worthy wireless coverage across 2.1 million square feet.

Super Bowl Host Committee chairman Rodney Barreto estimates that more than 200,000 people will travel to Miami for the event and related game-day activities in addition to the 65,000 fans that are expected to attend the game.

“Innovative design and precise execution, that was and is our game plan to make this a big win for our team and customers,” said Steven Morris, SVP of Engineering and Operations.

“The sheer volume of mobile data traffic that this event pulls each year never ceases to amaze. It’s exciting to be a part of making this experience extremely memorable for the thousands of people who will be visiting the Miami area, while also leaving behind a lasting solution for our customers that benefits all future hotel guests,” said Paul McGinn, CEO of Connectivity Wireless Solutions.

“We’re a global destination where leisure and business intersect with tropical perfection. But nowadays, ‘perfection’ is often only as perfect as your mobile connectivity,” said Ericka Nelson, General Manager for The EPIC Hotel. “That’s why we chose the Connectivity Wireless team. We were confident that they could deliver an innovative wireless solution that would enable us to provide this paramount amenity to our guests.”

“The wireless networks that the Connectivity Wireless team delivered at our resorts not only enable us to uphold our commitment to delivering premier services and amenities to our guests, but also fulfill a priority need for business operations while increasing the long-term value of our portfolio,” said Salem Munayyer, The Setai and Hotel Casa Casuarina (former Versace Mansion) Owner Representative and President of Strand Hotels.

“We are pleased to be able to offer cellular connectivity as a key amenity to our guests,” Alex Furrer, General Manager of The Setai, Miami Beach said. “The DAS allows our guests to stay connected to their personal interests or business obligations anywhere on property during their stay, he said. As a five-star resort, we aim to provide a world-class experience to all of our customers; it’s apparent that Connectivity Wireless strives to deliver the same – their team promised and certainly has delivered a six-star DAS solution.” Read the full press release here.
