Verizon is bringing 5G Ultra Wideband service to Phoenix today, its tenth 5G market. The carrier is also working with distributed antenna systems (DAS), small cells and WiFi provider Boingo Wireless to bring the wideband service indoors and to public spaces – places like airports, stadiums and arenas, office buildings, and hotels.

At first, Verizon 5G Ultra Wideband service will be concentrated around landmarks such as the Phoenix Convention Center, Talking Stick Resort Arena, the Orpheum Theatre, CityScape, and Chase Field.

It will also be available in Tempe, on the Arizona State University campus. When customers move outside Verizon’s 5G coverage area, the 5G-enabled devices hand off the signal to the carrier’s 4G network.

The carrier confirms the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G — which it says is available first on Verizon — is online and in stores starting today, August 23. There are three new Samsung Galaxy Note10 smartphone models. Click here to see specs.
