T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) parent company Deutsche Telekom (OTCQX: DTEGF) announced last week it has been actively expanding its 5G network across Germany, with the goal of reaching 99 percent of the population by the end of 2025. As of now, the company said it has 12,500 5G antennas in operation, spread across 940 cities and municipalities, particularly utilizing the 3.6 GHz spectrum band. Currently, about 97 percent of households in Germany have access to Deutsche Telekom’s 5G network, while LTE coverage reaches 99 percent of households. The company is also planning to launch its 5G Standalone offering this year, aiming to provide advanced 5G services to private customers.
In the last five weeks, the company said it has expanded its mobile services at 747 locations, including the construction of 102 new sites that are now broadcasting with both LTE and 5G frequencies. Additionally, the mobile network capacity was increased at 645 existing locations, with 5G technology being introduced at 105 of these sites.
