The Fiber Broadband Association will highlight next-generation broadband technologies at Fiber Connect 2026, May 17–20, in Orlando, FL, with several new and revised programs at this year’s event. They include:

  • Proof of Concept Showcase hosted by the Broadband Forum will feature five demonstrations focused on AI-powered operations, device management, and improved subscriber experiences, emphasizing scalable and interoperable fiber networks. Sessions will also explore emerging trends such as AI, quantum computing, telehealth, and data centers, with a keynote from Michio Kaku on the future of fiber. Organizers say the conference highlights how fiber infrastructure is enabling advanced applications and driving the next phase of broadband innovation.
  • “Fiber Feud” will bring a game-show-style competition to the main stage of this year’s event. Fiber Feud will feature teams of broadband industry leaders going head-to-head in a fast-paced test of their industry and FBA knowledge, Fiber Connect familiarity, and quick thinking. Four teams will compete live on the main stage during general sessions, with preliminaries on Monday, May 18, and the top two teams advancing to the finals on Tuesday, May 19.
  • Research Readouts will be held during breakout sessions at the show. The sessions will spotlight FBA’s most recent research exploring the industry’s most pressing issues, from permitting challenges to the growing demands of AI-driven infrastructure. Attendees will gain insight into key findings, survey data, and practical strategies drawn from studies developed by FBA committees, members, and partners, all aimed at accelerating fiber deployment and strengthening broadband networks.
