Frontier Communications (NASDAQ: FYBR) is relocating its corporate headquarters to Dallas from Norwalk, CT. Frontier says it chose Dallas because of its business-friendly environment and that Dallas is conveniently located in the middle of the company’s national footprint, making it easy to reach its customers and more efficiently manage its operations across the country. Over the next 10 years, Frontier projects that its relocation will contribute $3.8 billion to the local and state economy and secure thousands of jobs in the Dallas area.
Nick Jeffery, Frontier CEO, says, “Moving our headquarters to Dallas makes good business sense given the city is already home to hundreds of our corporate employees and sits in the middle of one of our most important fiber markets.”
Frontier’s expansion of its fiber network to hundreds of thousands of customers across Texas meets the growing demand for high-speed internet. The company plans to continue spending approximately $1 million per week to upgrade and improve its fiber-optic network in the Dallas metropolitan area. Frontier claims the economic benefits of fiber deployment include increasing home values and attracting new businesses, particularly in high-tech industries.
Following the relocation of its headquarters, Frontier will maintain a presence in Connecticut, where it has a long history and a large, growing customer base. The company is committed to expanding its fiber network across Connecticut.
At the end of 2Q23, Frontier reported 5.8 million fiber passings of its 15.4 million total copper and fiber passings across its 25-state operating area. The company says it is on track to achieve 10 million fiber passings by 2025 under its Building Gigabit America program. Frontier’s capex mid-point guidance for 2023 is $3.1 billion, Inside Towers reported.
