Man Falls From Tower in Kentucky, Adding to the List of 2016 Climber Fatalities

A man fell to his death late Tuesday while working on a 105’ cell tower in Morgan County, KY, reported WKYT. Police have identified the climber in Kentucky as 19-year old West Virginia native Tyler Comer.

According to investigators, Comer was attempting to gather his work tools when he slipped and fell to the ground. Kentucky State Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

This is the fourth climber fatality of the year. The first of which happened in Oklahoma in February, the second and third accidents happened in Wadesboro, NC and Damascus, MD during the same hour on May 16. North Carolina’s Department of Labor is investigating the Wadesboro fatality while Maryland’s MOST – Maryland Occupational Safety and Health – is conducting an investigation.

No further details regarding the fatality are known at the moment.
