More Events Cancelled Due to Coronavirus

Canada’s STAC Conference Postponed
The STAC 2020 Conference & Exhibition, scheduled to open March 31, in Vancouver, has been postponed due to the ongoing outbreak of COVID-19. CWTA and the STAC Steering Committee issued an announcement Thursday saying they will be working to determine a make-up date and clarify the refund policy in the coming weeks. A further update to attendees will be communicated as soon as possible.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, stayed tuned in the weeks ahead for further updates,” Nick Kyonka, STAC Program Director.

WISPAMERICA 2020 Cancelled
WISPAMERICA, which was to take place today through Friday in Dallas, is cancelled. The Wireless Internet Service Providers Association said the in-person event was cancelled, “due to the evolving nature of the coronavirus and concern for the safety of our attendees. In its place, WISPAMERICA 2020 will be a virtual show. Details will be forthcoming soon.” Organizers said the event would have hosted over 1,000 attendees and exhibitors.
AUVSI Postpones Show
Based on currently available information, and with the best interests of its members, exhibitors, attendees and the global community in mind, the AUVSI Board of Directors said Friday it made the “difficult but necessary” decision to postpone AUVSI XPONENTIAL 2020. It’s working on shifting the the event to a more suitable time-frame and has tentatively identified the dates of August 10-12 for the 2020 show.

“Please be advised however, that AUVSI’s current plans to conduct XPONENTIAL 2020 this August may change, given how rapidly the COVID-19 situation is evolving and whether further measures will need to be instituted to stem the spread of COVID-19, since your health, well-being and safety are our top priority,” states the board. “We will provide updates on our progress as additional information becomes available.”

The show had been slated for May 4-7 in the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. For more information, read here.
