NATE Participates in Senator Fischer and Commissioner Carr’s Broadband Event

NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association participated in a roundtable event hosted in Omaha, NE by U.S. Senator Deb Fischer and FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr yesterday. NATE President/CEO Todd Schlekeway represented the association at the roundtable, which was held at the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce Headquarters.

During the event, Fischer and Carr addressed attendees regarding the state of broadband connectivity in Nebraska and around the country. Following their remarks, Fischer and Carr facilitated a roundtable discussion featuring a group of stakeholders representing a range of industries and perspectives. The conversation among stakeholders focused on broadband deployment and coordination at the federal, state, and local levels, with participants sharing their industry’s unique perspectives. 

“It was an honor to join Senator Fischer and Commissioner Carr participating in [the] broadband deployment and coordination roundtable,” said Schlekeway. He said the event “provided a valuable forum to shine a spotlight on the essential work that NATE’s contractor members conduct in the cornhusker state and around the country deploying the broadband networks that enable connectivity. I also appreciated the opportunity to discuss the industry’s current workforce development and policy priorities with Senator Fischer, Commissioner Carr, and the other roundtable participants,” added Schlekeway.
