The more buildings and stadiums we construct, the harder it becomes to ensure reliable wireless connections. Depending on the architecture, the closest cell tower many not reach every room inside a new building. This is why in-building DAS and other small cell technology have become so important. The DAS Forum suggested ways to increase capacity. By using large cells and sectorized cells to get closer to users. The DAS Forum explains, “60-80% of traffic is generated indoors. More in-building systems are required as well as more public, enterprise, and underground venues.” By utilizing more small cell technology in new venues and in buildings where it’s just not possible to construct a macro cell nearby, users will still be able to rely on their wireless connection.
