The Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County, FL, has jumped the rent on an unidentified tower company by about 30 percent in its recently renegotiated lease for a tower at 45th Street and Jog Road. The current lease expires January 16, 2016, and in a staff memo submitted to the Palm Beach County board last month, members were told a market survey of rent rates encouraged the county to jump the rent $10,000 to $36,000 annually. The memo acknowledged the increase was “a significant increase” to the utility, according to the Palm Beach Post. The paper said the lease is for five years with options for three five-year extensions.
The county commissioners will vote on the proposed contract at a special 9:30 a.m. meeting on November 17. The county is home to some of the country’s most notorious characters such as presidential hopefuls as Donald Trump and Ben Carson, M.D., airwave angles Rush Limbaugh and Howard Stern (homes on the same street in Palm Beach), HBO Ballers star Dwayne Johnson, singer Jimmy Buffett and syndicated columnist Ann Coulter.
