The Signature, a unique “non-conference conference” concluded yesterday in Scottsdale, AZ. The event, billing itself as an exclusive gathering of the “movers and shakers” of the wireless industry, is known for what it doesn’t have: name tags, breakout sessions and keynote speakers.
Networking is done over golf outings, kayak trips, dinners and pool parties. Show organizer and Flash Technology Business Development Manager Wade Collins said it makes for a nicer environment to not only do business but get to know people in the industry better. “This takes the pressure off of everybody,” Collins said. “Sometimes you can do more business in the pool with a drink in your hand than you can running from one session to another at a trade show.”
The three day event closed out Thursday at the Phoenician Resort with a dinner labeled “Flip Flops and Fancy Tops.” Collins said the three year-old event just keeps getting better.
