Last Thursday, Wells Fargo Senior Analyst Jennifer Fritzsche and her team hosted their Wells Fargo Telecom Symposium. Verizon’s Vice President of Network Support Mike Haberman updated investors on the company’s wireless plans. Verizon is currently adding radio capacity with a variety of products, including small cells, outdoor DAS, and macro cells, depending on the geography in order to densify their network. According to Fritzsche, they have also been reharvesting its 1900 MHz PCS spectrum, but this process won’t require new antennas so it should be a quicker process than it was for the advanced wireless services (AWS). The company has also been deploying the 4×4 MIMO (multiple-input and multiple-output) involving 4 transmitters and 4 receivers, which should enhance coverage and improve network performance.
