The Wireless Infrastructure Association announced last week  that the Telecommunications Industry Registered Apprenticeship Program (TIRAP) has signed an agreement with Congruex Network Solutions, making the network design and construction company its one hundredth employer partner. With support from WIA, TIRAP partners are able to offer nationally recognized credentials from the U.S. Department of Labor (DoL) to apprenticeship program graduates.

As the national sponsor of TIRAP, WIA is the DoL’s industry intermediary tasked with expanding Registered Apprenticeship in the telecommunications industry by providing on-the-job training resources, support, and access to incentive funding for TIRAP members and other telecommunications companies.

“Strong apprenticeship programs supported by industry-driven standards are the number one way to train and retain talent for careers in broadband,” said WIA President/CEO Patrick Halley. “I’m incredibly proud of our TIRAP team and all the employers who are partnering with us to raise the bar for industry training.”

“This is an important milestone for TIRAP and all of our employer sponsors of apprenticeship,” said WIA VP of Apprenticeship Deb Bennett. “Registered Apprenticeship is a proven model for improving training, and our growing number of partners demonstrates the value TIRAP is able to provide through our resources and guidance.”
