obby Jack Murphy, WAKY 103.5 FM’s morning DJ didn’t expect he’d be witnessing his lead story of the day and that he would see it happen outside his window. Strong winds blowing through the Louisville, KY area last Wednesday caused WAKY’s tower to break nearly at the midpoint. Murphy snapped a picture of the tower and posted it on the station’s Facebook page while his broadcast signal was obliterated by the accident.

No one was injured in the accident and a date for WAKY to return to the airwaves was not announced. The tower is located in Lebanon Junction, KY.
