Oktibbeha County (MS) Coroner Michael Hunt said a worker died after falling approximately 80 to 90 feet from a cell tower, according to WTVA. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday as crews worked on a cell tower being built along Highway 23 in the Longview community.
Starkville Daily News said, “after next of kin had been notified, Hunt identified the victim as 43-year-old John Wayne Womack of Mountain View, Arkansas.” The Dispatch reported that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been notified and will investigate.
